1Who we are

Cue & Capture is an iPhone application published by Appystrano LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app or this website. It applies to the app and to cueandcapture.com.

2What we do not collect

The current version of the app does not:

• require an account, email address, name or password;
• include any advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK;
• track you across other apps or websites, and it declares no tracking domains;
• show advertising, or share information with advertisers or data brokers;
• sell or rent personal information, under any definition, to anyone.

The app does include a product analytics component, which records six anonymous usage events and is described in full in section 5. It is not an advertising or attribution tool, and it does not follow you anywhere else.

The app ships with its written content bundled inside it, so most of what you do — reading a lesson, opening a pose card, building a board — involves no network request at all.

3Information stored on your device

The app saves the following inside its own private storage area on your iPhone:

• boards you create, and the poses and shoot dates you add to them;
• which lessons you have completed, and where you left off;
• preferences and interface state.

This information is never transmitted to us. It is protected by iOS app sandboxing, it is included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone, and it is permanently deleted when you delete the app. There is nothing for us to erase on request, because we never receive it.

4Location

The Light Tracker calculates golden hour, sunset and blue hour times for where you are standing. To do that, iOS asks your permission to share your approximate location with the app while you are using it.

Your location is used entirely on your device. The calculation is pure solar mathematics performed locally — it does not require a network request, and your coordinates are never sent to us, stored by us, or shared with anyone.

Granting location is optional. If you decline, every other part of the app works normally and you can enter times manually. You can change or revoke the permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.

5Product analytics in the app

From version 1.0.5 onwards, the app includes TelemetryDeck, a product analytics service, so that we can see which parts of the app are actually used and put our effort in the right place. Versions before 1.0.5 contain no analytics at all and collect none of what follows. It records six events and nothing else:

• finishing onboarding;
• opening a lesson, and completing a lesson, each recorded with that lesson's identifier and subject;
• creating a board, recorded with the number of poses in it;
• checking a pose off during a shoot;
• opening the Light Tracker.

Each event carries an anonymous identifier generated for your installation of the app. It is not your name, not your Apple Account, and not your device's advertising identifier. No email address, no location, no photograph, and none of the content of your boards or notes is ever included.

This is product analytics, not advertising. It is not used to build a profile of you, is not combined with anything else, is not sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers, and is not used to follow you across other apps or websites. The app asks for no App Tracking Transparency permission because it does no such tracking.

TelemetryDeck processes this information on our behalf, as our data processor, under its own privacy policy: telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

6Images and content delivery

Wedding photographs shown in the app are loaded from our image host at linandjirsablog.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, operated on our behalf by Amazon Web Services.

As with any request for a file over the internet, that server necessarily receives your device's IP address, the file requested, and standard technical details such as time and user agent. This is a technical requirement of delivering an image, not a profile of you: we do not combine these logs with anything else, do not use them to identify you, and do not use them for advertising or analytics.

7Workshop video

Workshop lessons play through video players embedded from Vimeo and, in some cases, YouTube. These are third-party services. When a video loads, the provider receives your IP address and device information and may set cookies or similar identifiers, under its own privacy policy rather than ours.

We do not receive any information back from these providers about what you watch, and we do not pass them anything about you. If you never open a workshop video, no request is made to either provider.

8This website, and measuring our advertising

cueandcapture.com is a plain static website. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no third-party tracking scripts. The one script on the page is the newsletter signup form, hosted by Kajabi. If you submit it, the email address you type goes to Kajabi under its own privacy policy so that we can send you the newsletter. If you do not submit it, nothing is sent.

We advertise Cue & Capture on third-party platforms, currently Meta (Facebook and Instagram). If, and only if, you reach this site by clicking one of our advertisements, this happens when you tap a link through to the App Store:

• our server tells the advertising platform that the click it sent us ended in someone tapping through to the App Store;
• so the platform can match that to the advertisement it showed, the message includes the click identifier the platform itself added to the link that brought you here, together with your IP address and browser user agent.

We do this so we can tell which advertisements are worth paying for. Under California law this counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we describe it that way deliberately rather than behind softer language. You can object to it, and section 12 explains how.

What this deliberately does not do: no cookie is set, no script runs in your browser, nothing is stored on your device, and visitors who did not arrive from one of our advertisements are never reported to any advertising platform at all. We do not build advertising audiences from visitors to this site.

We also add a campaign tag to the App Store links we publish. Apple reports back to us, in aggregate, how many people reached the App Store page from a given campaign and how many downloaded the app. Those reports do not identify anyone.

9Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled under your Apple Account, and we never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account credentials.

Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales and subscription reports — for example how many subscriptions were started in a country in a given week. These reports do not identify individual customers. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

10Crash and performance data

The app contains no crash-reporting or performance-monitoring service. If you have separately chosen to share analytics with Apple and with developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may make anonymised crash logs available to us. That sharing is controlled by Apple and by you, and can be switched off there at any time.

11Children

Cue & Capture is a professional tool for working and aspiring wedding photographers. It is not directed at children, and it is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — in practice we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, as described above.

12Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe and the UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California) to access, correct, delete or port the personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its sale.

We never sell personal information, under any definition, to anyone.

We hold almost nothing about you. There are no accounts, and your boards, saved poses and progress never leave your iPhone, so for most of what this policy covers there is genuinely nothing for us to retrieve, correct, export or delete.

Two narrow exceptions, both described above:

• Product analytics (section 5). These events are tied to an anonymous per-installation identifier, not to you, so we have no way to find "your" events in order to show or delete them. Deleting and reinstalling the app starts a new identifier.
• Advertising measurement (section 8). If you reached this site from one of our advertisements, we share a single click event with that platform. Under the CCPA and CPRA this is a share for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you have the right to opt out of it.

To opt out of advertising measurement, do any of the following: email us at contact@cueandcapture.com and we will confirm in writing; or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour as a valid opt-out signal; or simply reach the App Store without clicking one of our advertisements, in which case nothing is ever shared.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to this processing, to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority, and to ask us what we hold. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your iPhone. To manage a subscription, use Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

13Changes to this policy

This policy describes the app and website as they exist today. We expect it to change: planned work includes optional user accounts and cloud sync, which would introduce an email address and stored content.

What changed in version 1.1 (13 October 2026). Two additions, both described here before they reach anyone, as section 13 requires.

Section 5 is new. Product analytics is built into app version 1.0.5, which has not been released yet; the version on the App Store today contains no analytics. Section 5 sets out exactly what 1.0.5 will collect, so that it is documented in advance rather than afterwards.

Section 8 is new and describes how we measure whether our advertising works. Section 12 has been rewritten to match, because the earlier statement that we hold nothing at all about anyone is no longer true in every respect.

When that happens we will update this page, change the effective date at the top, and — where the change is significant — tell you inside the app before it takes effect. We will not begin collecting a new category of information without saying so here first.
